James Kelly Beale age 66 of Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia died Saturday, Jan 27th, 2024

after a difficult struggle with ALS. He lived his last days at Halifax Hospice, a beautiful

caring and supportive environment.


Kelly was the son of the late John J. Beale and Fay A. Beale (Doyle), He will be dearly

missed by his siblings Jo, Tobias (Nicole), Eliza (Wayne), John Peter (Eva), children

Aaron (Morghain), Zoe (Chris), their mother and Kelly’s good friend Ditta Kasdan, son

Kai , Kai’s Aunt Michelle and the Hollett family, step children Maja and Joel,

grandchildren Mateo, Scarlett, Luca, Simone, nieces and nephews Wylie, Gabriel (Kate),

Julia, Julien (Rachel), Jesse, Zachary, Elida, Escher, uncles Brian, Mike (Jenny), cousins

Barry, Laura, Meagan, Ryan, Sara, Maura, Simon, Rowan, extended family and so many

lifelong friends.


An adventurer, his strength and daring won admiration and a following of dedicated

friends. He saw the good in each person and was so gracious and generous, welcoming

everyone into his embrace. His ever-present sense of humour, sense of play and inclusion

made him a cherished partner, brother and father.


Kelly was inspired by life; he learned French language living in Montreal and Chicoutimi

for a spell. He enjoyed travel. He loved living on the coast; swimming, scuba diving and

sailing, and riding motorcycle. He studied marine navigation, literature, bartending and

music among other interests.


He was a physically active person and always building something. He rarely sat still, yet

he meditated and taught Qi Gong. Always genuine, Kelly pursued spiritual

enlightenment with perseverance, humility and always with lightness and humour. In his

career as a healer for over 30 years he practiced Feldenkrais, cranial sacral therapy and

Bowen technique, helping many people heal from chronic pain or trauma through

bodywork.


His generous heart touched the lives of so many people and he died incredibly rich with

deep and loving friendships and family.
