<p>Robert J. Richard</p><p>Bay City, Michigan</p><p><br></p><p>Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Bayfield Assisted Living, age 76. Robert was born March 15, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Michael and Inza (Johannes) Calvano. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with his bachelor’s degree in culinary and food science. He worked for several years as a chef in Milwaukee and New Orleans. Robert was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. John’s Church in Essexville. He was also a 3rd Degree Brother Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #2740, 4th Degree Sir Knight and Color Corps in Essexville. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and enjoyed teaching or mentoring others with the Boy Scout Troop #108. Throughout his time with the Scouts, he was a leader and Commissioner. Robert was a huge Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed repairing old radios to keep his mind active. He was a strong advocate and volunteer for the Parkinson Support Groups in Bay City.</p><p>Left to cherish is memory is his loving wife Suzanne S. Schmit, whom he married on August 23, 1969, three children: Amy (Sean) Mika, Nick “Domonic” (Monique) Richard, and Renee DuPuy, seven grandchildren: Chase, Madalyn, Daniel, Mia, Addison, Domonic, and Dylan, and brother-in-law Charles Schmit. Robert was predeceased by parents, stepfather Peter Richard and one brother Richard Richard.</p><p>The Funeral Mass for Richard will be celebrated Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. John’s Church, 614 Pine Street, Essexville, MI 48732. Family and friends will gather at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Private inurnment will be in Holy Apostle Cemetery in New Berlin, Wisconsin. A Knights of Columbus Bible and Chalice Presentation will be held after Mass at the funeral luncheon. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorials to The Michael J.
