<p>Ringling- Services for William “Steve” Rapier, 68, of Ringling, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home and Crematory of Ringling.</p><p><br></p><p>Steve was born April 6, 1955, to the late Mr. W.S. Rapier Jr., and Mrs. Eunice L (Gardner) Rapier. He departed this life Sunday, February 4, 2024, at his son’s home in Midland, TX.</p><p><br></p><p>Steve was raised in Ringling where he attended school, graduating with the class of 1973. He began a career in the oilfield with his brother Danny. Steve married the former Ms. Karen Ellice Webb on December 8, 1978, at the First Baptist Church of Wilson and they made their home in Wilson but soon moved back to Ringling. In the early 1990’s Steve worked as a ranch hand in Montana for a few years. After returning to Ringling, he served as a first responder for around 20 years. When Steve was 40 years of age, he went on to further his education, earning his master’s degree in psychology.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was then dedicated to serving the wellbeing of the community as a counselor for 20 years.&nbsp; Steve loved any kind of animal, enjoyed tinkering with anything outdoors, and working with his hands. His wife Karen preceded him in death on July 1, 2014.</p><p><br></p><p>Also preceding him in death are his parents, W.S. and Eunice; brothers, Davey, Danny, and Jim Rapier; nephew, Michael Rapier.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Rapier of Lewisville, TX; son, Steve Rapier and wife Sarah of Midland, TX; grandchildren, Wren Rapier, Aria Ikwueme, and Robin Rapier; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be Casey Rapier, Tracey Rapier, Randy Stowers, Clint Smith, Bryce Smith, and Kevin Edwards.</p><p><br></p><p>Honorary bearers are all of the Ringling First Responders, EMT’s, and Volunteer Fire Department.</p><p><br></p><p>Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling.</p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.alexandergrayfh.com.</p><p><br></p><p><iframe height="330" width="512" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/MK828MRFJJSXTBPR" class="ts_player"></iframe></p>
