Margaret M Schenck Obituary

Margaret M. Schenck, known to all as Peggy, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Independence Manor in Flemington, NJ. She was 91 years old.


Peggy was born in Lambertville and lived most of her life there. She graduated from Lambertville High School and worked as a receptionist at the Phillips-Barber Clinic for 20 years before retiring in 1989. Peggy was the devoted wife of the late John E. Schenck, III. Together they raised their three daughters Jeanne, Jackie and Joanie.


Peggy and Jack enjoyed winters in Florida where they hosted family and made regular visits to Disneyworld. An excellent cook, Peggy looked forward to preparing big family dinners on the holidays. When in New Jersey they were active in the Lambertville Boat Club and enjoyed boating on the Delaware. Peggy and Jack were often seen riding in their convertible, strolling hand in hand for evening walks or just sitting on their front porch greeting friends and neighbors. Peggy and Jack were active members of the Friends of Mary Sheridan Park.


Peggy was the wife of the late John E. Schenck, III; the daughter of the late Joseph C. Mullen, Sr. and Raphaella Yannarella Mullen, the sister of the late Joseph C. Mullen, Jr. and the sister-in-law of the late Simpson “Simmie” Agin. She is survived by her daughters Jeanne Redcay and her partner Dan Utman of Lawrenceville, Jackie Sansone of Lambertville and Joan Schenck and her partner John Schibel of Flemington, NJ; her grandchildren Amy Parmegiani and her husband Ralph of New Providence, NJ, Anna M. Redcay and her husband Isaac Bower of Pittsburgh, PA; James Elias Redcay III and his wife Thao Pham Redcay of Glenside, PA; Stephanie Brigandi and her husband Joseph of Glassboro, NJ and Missy Merkel and her husband Darek of Port Murray, NJ: her great-grandchildren Jack Parmegiani, Isla Bower, Dylan Merkel, Drew Merkel, Cole Brigandi and Elias James Redcay; her sisters Betty Agin of Ewing and Barbara Coles and her husband Al of St. Cloud, Fl and her extended circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends.


Funeral services will be private.
