Obituary

Timothy James “Timmy” Kelleher passed away on February 1, 2024 in his home in Putnum Valley, NY. He was 58 years old.

Tim was born in the Bronx, NY on February 27, 1965. He was loved and raised by his parents Dorthea and John Kelleher along side his brother Brian Christopher in Mahopac, NY.

He attended Franciscan High School in Mohegan Lake NY, where he excelled at Track and Field. After graduating, he worked for the Post Office and then for Metro North Railroad. He retired from his foreman position at the MTA in May 2021.

Timmy met the love of his life when she moved in next door and they were married May 11, 1996 at St. John The Evangelist in Mahopac. Timmy was devoted and loyal to family and loved his parents, wife, and children with his whole heart. He shared his father’s passion for history and as a family they would take trips to historical sites. Like his wife and mother, Tim was a great cook- his mushrooms were “famous” at the railroad work parties.

He was proficient at crafting meticulous military vehicle models and he was an artist, passing on his talent for sketching and modeling to his son. He was a true animal lover- perhaps enjoying the quiet company of animals more than that of people sometimes. He be-friended the wildlife in the woods behind his home: deer, bear, opossum, and raccoon alike. Inside he enjoyed his new kitten, Gabby, a gift from his son, as well as his son’s dog Luna and the family cats.

Tim was preceded in death by his brother Brian Christopher, mother Dorthea Ann (Frascogna) Kelleher, father John Patrick Kelleher, daughter Caylin Nicole Kelleher, as well as his parent’s-in-law Pamela Ann (Mack) and Gary Edwin Wheate.

Tim is survived at home by his loving wife of 27 years, Melissa Ann (Bromback) Kelleher, as well his son Joseph Patrick Kelleher, both of Putnam Valley, and his son Brian Stephen Kelleher, who resides in Orlando, Florida with his fiance, Xandra Zucker.

Arrangements entrusted by Balsamo-Codovano Funeral Home 845-225-2144, Carmel, NY. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 110 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY at 10am on Tuesday February 27, 2024 with internment to follow.

Donations in Timmy’s name may be sent to the Putnam Human Society, Carmel, NY. (Mailing Address: P.O. Box 297; Carmel, NY 10512)
