It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wilbert “Lu Lu” Clement of Morse has went to his heavenly home. He passed away at The Calcutta House of Lafayette following a short illness on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 4:45 P.M.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Estherwood.

Fr. Andrew Schumacher will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held at Istre Cemetery in Mermentau Cove. 

The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Monday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.

Survivors include four sons, Gilbert Clement of Morse, Patrick and wife, Linda of Crowley, Carol and wife, Melisa of Morse, Gerald and wife, Stacie of Youngsville; his companion, Ethel Doga of Roberts Cove; one sister, Rena Istre of Mermentau Cove; three brothers, Edwin Clement of Morse, Walter Clement of New Iberia, and Ernest Clement of Lyons Point; seven grandchildren, Kaleb, Kristen, Allyson, Brett, Abigail, Allen, and Ashley.

Mr. Clement enjoyed going fishing and hunting with his sons. He also enjoyed going to French dances, and in his later years he enjoyed just getting to listening to the French music with his friends.

Mr. Clement was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann Clement; his parents, Donicien and Anita T. Clement; two brothers, Clarence and Chester Clement; one sister, Mary Lapoint.
