Leonard Charles Kadel Obituary

It is with very heavy hearts that we must say our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather has passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024. Len will be incredibly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind his loving daughter Jennifer Murray, and his two granddaughters, Erin Bowling and Kyla Daneault along with their spouses Raymond Bowling III and Stephen Daneault. Len also was lucky enough to have a great-grandson, Cole Daneault who he enjoyed playing and being silly with. He was fortunate enough to have been a part of the loving Montei family who embraced him and will remember him fondly.

Len was born and raised in Hartford to Charles and Charlotte (Rukowicz) Kadel. He proceeded to call Windsor Locks home for 44 years before moving to West Hartford. Len had dedicated many years to his employment at AT&T where he and his colleagues would spend their down time playing practical jokes on each other. Len was a quiet and kind soul who never wanted to be recognized for his generosity to those he loved and strangers alike. He found happiness in helping others and contributing to the community even becoming a part of Big Brothers where he was given the accolade of Big Brother of the Year. Len enjoyed passing the time by spending time with family, reading, completing jigsaw puzzles, and challenging himself with the daily Wordle puzzle. Len cherished his lifelong friendships with Lou and John.

Len was predeceased by his loving wife and instant soulmate of 30 plus years, Barbara (Lucas) Kadel. He was also predeceased by many loved ones including his longtime partner, Beverly Montei, his three sisters, Theresa, Frances, and Joan, and his son-in-law Craig Murray.

At his request, there will be no funeral services. Memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Foodshare: www.CTfoodshare.org
