She was born to Manuel and Delores Huerta on April 4, 1921 in El Paso, TX. Mary was the oldest of 13 children. Manuel and Delores moved their family to Lovelock, NV where Mary met and married her loving husband Arthur W. Garrett on November 23, 1941. They had 6 children, Judy (Bill) Donaldson, Helen (Ward) Wood, Jeanne Reed, Art Garrett Jr. (Roxanne), Timothy P. Garrett (Linda) and Susan Burlingham (Ethan). They had 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Mary was a stay at home mom occasionally working outside the home. Mom loved her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She was very musical and loved to play the piano and sing to anyone that would listen! She also played the violin in her younger days. Mary was a self taught seamstress who made her own patterns for her children. She was a great cook too! Her favorite hobby was crocheting. She crocheted for us kids and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Delores Huerta, her husband Arthur W. Garrett, her children Judy Donaldson, Art Garrett Jr. and Timothy P. Garrett. Son-in-laws, Bill Donaldson, Ward Wood, and Ethan Burlingham. She is survived by daughters Helen Wood, Jeanne Reed and Susan Burlingham. Mom is in heaven sharing her beautiful spirit. Rest in peace mom. Until we meet again.
