<p>Audrey R. Leighton, 99, died February 1, 2024 at her home in Boothbay surrounded by her loving family. Audrey was born March 17, 1924 in Winter Harbor to Walter and Frances (Dyer) Workman. She went to High School in Steuben, and graduated in the same class with her sister, Theo Lowe.</p><p><br></p><p>She married Sherwood Leighton of Millbridge on September 5, 1943. They raised two daughters, Sheila and Paula. Audrey was a member of the snowmobile club, Eastern Star, Camping Group and Down Easters #1. She also volunteered at the Methodist Church, and was a Brownie Leader.</p><p><br></p><p>Audrey worked at the First National Store in Boothbay Harbor, and for many years at Depositor’s Trust. She started making ceramics at home, and then she and her sister, Theo, started a business called Aud-line Ceramics. She also had a gift shop.</p><p><br></p><p>She was predeceased by her daughter, Paula Leighton; her husband, Sherwood Leighton; her parents; Sister, Theo Lowe, and a nephew, Jimmy Lowe. Audrey’s family would like to thank the staff of Lincoln Health - Miles Hospital, Beacon Hospice and Hall Funeral Home for all of the great care that was given to their mom.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Lewis and her husband Wendell of Boothbay</p><p>Three granddaughters, Gerry Lynn Kierstead, Kerina Morton, and Vicki Brown</p><p><br></p><p>Four great grandchildren, and Eight great, great grandchildren </p><p><br></p><p>A private graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay.</p><p>Condolences may be shared with the family at hallfuneralhomes.com </p><p><br></p>
