On February 1, 2024 our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather peacefully entered into glory in his 87th year.

Louis was the husband of the late Martha Hogeterp (2013) and beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Pam and Harry Stam, Jennifer and Bram Drost, Renee and Randy Nieuwsma, Barb and Ron Douwes, the late Chris (2022) and Kelly Bill, and 20 grandchildren, their spouses and 24 great-grandchildren. Louis is survived by in-laws Wiepe Taekema, Peter Hogeterp, Rose DeBeer, Pati Hogeterp and Hazel and Larry Schipper. He is predeceased by his five older brothers in The Netherlands, his sister Baukje (Jelle) Visser in Jarvis, Ontario, five sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. His family finds great comfort in his lifelong faith and trust in Jesus. This legacy anchored him in good times and bad, and was reflected through his words and deeds. Friends are invited to visit family at Cooper Funeral Home, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis, Ontario on Sunday February 4, 2024, from 3 - 5 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church, 139 Talbot Street East, Jarvis, Ontario on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Louis may be made to Jarvis Community Christian School, Hamilton District Christian Highschool, or a charity of your choice.
