Doreen Tiffin (nee Elwell) was received into the loving hands of her Saviour, on January 31, 2024 from Gardenview LTC, Townsend with her daughter and her friend, Pastoral Care Minister, Theresa Bakker. Doreen was in her 90th year. She was married to the love of her life, John (2022) for sixty-seven years. A devoted mother to Laurel Dolson (William Roberts) of Kimberley, B.C., and Andrea Tiffin of Townsend, Ontario, a grandmother to Lauren Ernst (Tom) and great-grandmother to Senna, of Haliburton. Doreen will be missed by her sisters-in-law: Audrey Tiffin and Edith Tiffin, and her nieces and nephews. Doreen will be missed by her friends and the loving nursing staff at Gardenview LTC, who provided her with care and support for nine years. Doreen loved exercising with Cissy Peters and the ladies of Emmanuel Bible Church, riding her bicycle, gardening, baking, sewing and spending time with her family. Doreen made Canada her home after emigrating from Walsall, UK., with her parents, in 1947. Doreen’s faith in Jesus brought her strength and comfort during the most challenging times in her life. A small, private service by invitation only, will be held at Cooper Funeral Home, Jarvis. The service will be live-streamed on Friday March 8, 2024 at 11:00a.m. conducted by Theresa Bakker (Pastoral Care Minister) of Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Home. Andrea wishes to express her sincere thanks to Pastor Theresa Bakker, Dr. Paul Medve and the entire staff at Gardenview for all the love and care they showed for 'our mom'. The family has requested that donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario, and/or to Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Home where Doreen resided for nine years.
