Fondly known as Willie by close friends and family, he could always be found attending one of the local card games including 45’s with his faithful partner Joanne Eldershaw, auction and crib – but never on Sunday! For most of his life, Willie was a truck driver for Seldon Miller Fisheries and traveled mostly around Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

He also enjoyed spending time and playing cards with the ladies in Northwest Cove including Doris Murphy, Joan Dorey and Judy Rose MacDonald. He was also known as Grampie by his two grandchildren, Alyssa and Owen. He will be dearly missed by them and so many more.

Willie was very well known throughout the local communities of Hubbards and Chester. Family outings were never dull, because someone would always stop to say hi to Willie.

He is survived by his wife, Rosanne (Graves); son Derek, Antigonish; grandchildren Alyssa and Owen; countless nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Albert, Arthur, George; sisters, Beatrice, Betty, Doris, Lily and Virginia.
