Robert James Dottinger
<p>DOTTINGER, Robert James, age 88, a resident of Franklin Lakes, and formerly of Hawthorne, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. He was born in Queens, NY to Richard and Ellen (McGushin) Dottinger. In 1959, Robert exchanged vows with the love of his life, Diane Semenza, and together they shared 51 years of loving and loyal marriage while raising their two sons. </p><p><br></p><p>Before his well-deserved retirement, Robert dedicated his professional life to industrial design at Dottinger Design Inc. His innovative designs graced exhibits, retail spaces, and corporate environments, leaving a lasting impact on the world of design. </p><p><br></p><p>Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife Diane in 2010. Loving father to Richard and his wife Linda of Denville, and Paul and his wife Jennifer of Sparta. </p><p>A devoted and cherished grandfather, Robert leaves behind Julia, Matthew, Annalise, Benjamin, and Jolie. He also leaves behind his sister Christine Calhoun. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Dottinger. </p><p><br></p><p>Friends and family may visit the Dottinger family on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2-6 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Funeral service to be held Monday, February 5, 2024, at 11 AM at the funeral home.
