<p>Jacques Louis Yammine passed away peacefully on January 26, 2024 surrounded by family in Reno, NV. Jacques was a beloved and highly respected member of the Reno, NV community. A friend once called him:"a true Gentleman ..."an uncommon thing these days!"</p><p><br></p><p>From Beirut, Lebanon, to his resting place in America, his is a story of perseverance, loyalty to God, family, and country. He built a brilliant 36-year career in Lebanon as a top businessman, where he helped lead the premiere consumer goods Khalil Fattal &amp; fils company through a 17-year war, then through a successful regional expansion.</p><p><br></p><p>Next, in retirement in Reno, NV, USA, he reinvented himself and established his own business consultancy. In typical Jacques fashion, he also dedicated himself totally to the task of giving back to his community through hard work, top honors, and good deeds.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;His favorite volunteer activity was the Reno Rotary Club. By the end of his 25-year tenure on the Club's International Committee, he had helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of contributions for development projects around the world. He was especially proud of the ties he helped forge between the Reno Rotary Club and the Beirut Cosmopolitan Rotary Club. That led to delivery of medical equipment to Lebanese hospitals and humanitarian aid following the 2020 Lebanon Port explosion.<br></p><p><br></p><p>He was elected Worshipful Master of Golden Lodge No. 50 of Reno, NV, in 2003. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Reno, NV and a member of the Shriners.<br></p><p><br></p><p>Throughout his life, customers, friends, and strangers alike attest to the charisma of Jack/Jacques, his ever-present smile, his persuasive abilities, his negotiation skills, and his talent in engaging anyone, anywhere, anytime.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Lorena Schaake Yammine, and his sister Afaf (Fifi). He leaves behind 3 children, Jeannie, Susan, Louis and families; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved sister Sally, and many nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins. All will miss him dearly.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, 10:00 a.m at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stoker Avenue, Reno, NV 89503. It will be followed by a reception.</p><p>Burial service will be held for immediate family at our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery at 2 pm.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners' Hospital for Children, or St Jude's Children's' Hospital.</p>
