George Zigich Obituary

George Zigich, 91, of Terre Hill, passed away on January 27, 2024 at WellSpan Ephrata Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Novak and Louise Zigich.

He was the husband of the late Florence (Cartwright) Zigich, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage until the time of her passing on November 8, 2014.

George was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in Philadelphia PA where he was captain of the varsity baseball team. He was a member of the United Methodist Church for some 70 years and was recently a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in New Holland for the past 25 years. He was employed by several Motor Common Carriers for 47 years, starting out as a typist, moving onto manager and finally the Vice President. George was a faithful Christian who walked with God, a faithful family man, and a very hard worker throughout his life.

George is survived by his sons; George N. husband of Theresa (Kilbride) Zigich of East Cocalico, Nicholas M. Zigich of Terre Hill and Glenn husband of Laura (Memminger) Zigich of Frenchtown, NJ and four grandchildren; Rhys, Shayne, Gwyn, and Alaina Zigich.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers; Peter Zigich and Nicholas Zigich.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 276 W Main Street, New Holland PA 17557 with Pastor Ray Voran officiating. A Viewing will be held for one hour prior to the time of service in the church. Burial in the adjoining church cemetery.
