Roger Lee Morey Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Roger Lee Morey announce his passing on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Roger was born in Wolcott on July 28, 1956 to Walter and Lillian (Douglas) Morey, the third and final son. He graduated from Peoples Academy in 1974 and promptly went to work full time at LeRiche Egg Farm where a pretty young woman caught his eye- Lise DeBlois. They were married in 1978. When the LeRiche Egg Farm closed, Roger went to work for Lucky Day in Plainfield. It was there he met Geoff Wilson who became Roger's best friend and a brother. Geoff and his wife Ann did so much for Roger and no words can convey our gratitude.

In 1994, Roger began work at Novello Furniture where he gained a reputation as a helpful and friendly delivery person who had a smile for all. Ed Polli, Sue Hennessy and Phyliss Cloutier became a second, caring family to Roger.

Roger leaves behind his beloved son Nickolas (Cynthia Wallen) Morey plus his pride and joy grandsons Dominick and Zackery who will be forever saddened by this loss. He also leaves behind his oldest brother Robert (and Debra) and their son Richard and Richard's six children. He is also survived by his brother Bernie's daughter Kim (and Marcel) Gravel and their two sons.

Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by his wife Lise and his brother Bernie.

Norwich Hockey and 'Bud Hill' will always hold special memories and shall never be the same. Our cousins lunches with Wanda and Wanita will always be missing someone.

Special thanks to Lisa and Thad Shedd, Matt Placey, and Gus Flowers (who called Roger every day) as well as Geoff and Ann Wilson for everything they did for Roger and who share our loss.

A memorial service will be held at the Wolcott Town Hall on Saturday,  February 10, 2024 from 1:30pm-5pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Roger's memory to the Lamoille Area Cancer Network. Arrangements are with the des Groseilliers Funeral Home in Hardwick. Memories and condolences may be shared with Roger's family at dgfunerals.com.
