Mabel Beulah Awalt

Nee Publicover

(January 1927-January 2024)

On Wednesday January 24, 2024 my dear mom, grandmother and sister passed away at Shoreham Village, Chester. Mom is now reunited with dad, Gordon; brothers, Hector, Edgehill; sisters, Eileen, Beatrice and Florence as well as many brothers in laws.

Born in Blandford she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elsie Publicover. Mabel worked for many years in Halifax as a housekeeper and later as a timekeeper at Moirs Candy Factory. After marring in 1959 she lived in Blandford for the next 60 years.

Left to mourn are her daughter, Judy (Gwyn) Colwood BC; grandsons, Jeremey, Quesnel, BC and Micheal, Victoria BC; sisters, Mona, Mamie, Lydia, Olive and Lola as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Mabel was an avid gardener who enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and was a member of the St Barnabas Guild for many years where she enjoyed helping and baking for bazaars and suppers. Mabel also loved animals of all kinds and gave a home to many dogs and cats.

Graveside service to be held at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church Cemetery with the date to be determined. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
