Ann Marie Loucks

<p>Ann Marie "Amma" Loucks passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton, ON, January 23, 2024 at the age of 81. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Donald Loucks and son Donald Loucks. Ann is survived by her brothers Wayne and Brendan Hamill and sister Joan Collins, her daughter Tara Loucks and Tara's two daughters Jessica and Hayley, her son Peter Loucks, his wife Berni Liao and their four sons Alex, Caleb, Elijah and Sebastian. Ann enjoyed a very successful career working into her seventies in the Niagara Region. She developed lifelong friendships with hundreds of business owners and coworkers and earned a fantastic reputation for her knowledge, skill and hard work. Ann enjoyed the outdoors and spent her leisure time gardening, camping, fishing and swimming. An avid reader, Ann spent time with a book every day. She was known as Amma and greatly loved by her six grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Together the grandchildren enjoyed spending time baking, playing card games and learning how to write shorthand. A lifelong bridge player, Ann enjoyed her weekly games for the past 20 years with a close knit group in Grimsby. Many thanks to Marg, Doug and Marylin who helped transport Ann to and from the games when she could no longer do it on her own. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care and support provided by all the staff at St. Peter's - many thanks to the excellent nursing care, Matthew SW, and doctors Lafrenier and Tallman.</p><p><br></p>
