Sandra (aka Sandy) Carpenter was born to Theodore O. Jorstad and Florence Madeline Langille
in Chicago, Illinois on July 23, 1934. When she was eight years old she spent time with her
grandmother at her resort (Towering Pines Resort) in Eagle River, Wisconsin. She attended a
year of school there at Sugar Camp. Her family moved to Rhinelander, Wisconsin where Sandy
attended and graduated (in 1952) from Rhinelander High School. She left Rhinelander after
graduation and moved to California with some girlfriends. She married there and had her only
child, Sandy Lee. Sandra divorced shortly thereafter and moved with her daughter to Arkansas,
Texas, California and many other places over the years. In 1985 she followed Sandy Lee and her
husband (Randy) and their young son to Reno, NV, where she lived the rest of her days.
She got very involved in church and bible studies, and soon took a job as the office manager at
the church she attended (Reno Christian Fellowship) where she worked for about 20 years.
During that time she was able to travel to Israel and other countries on various mission trips.
She always had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, especially biblical knowledge but not
limited to that. She also enjoyed the arts locally including various community choirs and
choruses that she sang in, as well as the Pioneer Theater where she volunteered as an usher for
many years.
Sandra leaves behind her younger sister, Judi Tabler (Buddy) and their children Jon and
Jennifer, her daughter Sandy Siever (Randy), grandsons Jacob Siever and Ian Siever, and
granddaughter Bethany Spanier (Nick). She also was blessed to have two great-grandchildren,
Abigail and Judah Spanier who she adored.
Sandra will be laid to rest in a family plot in Eagle River, Wisconsin later this year.
