Obituary
Adolfo (Dolfo) Galang Lapuz, a native of the Philippines and resident of Reno, Nevada since
2000 passed away on January 20, 2024 at the age of 68, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Germelinda, and daughter DJ.
Brothers and sisters; Baby Rose and Bill Gardner, Rhoda, Alexander, Eddie and Racquel,
Benjamin and Mary, Reynaldo, Cecilia, Irene, Lily and Camille LeeShanok, 26 nephews and
nieces, and 42 great nephews and great nieces.
Adolfo was born in the Philippines on May 5, 1955 to parents, Nicanor Lapuz and Rosa
Galang-Lapuz, and was the 6th out of 20 children. He graduated from the Philippine School of
the Deaf, and worked at the Manila International Airport and Manila Post Office. While working,
he has received numerous recognitions such as "Employee of the Year", and was featured in the
Philippine television show Rated K as the "Model Worker of the Philippines". He then carried
that loyalty and hard work over at the El Dorado Resort Casino where he worked for the past 23
years, and was recognized as "Employee of the Quarter". In his workplace, he was known to be
joyous, hardworking, and compassionate to everyone he met.
Adolfo's journey into his family life began when he met the love of his life, Germelinda, who he
shared over 20 years of unwavering companionship. Their bond was beautiful, and was full of
warmth, resilience, and laughter. Adolfo later took immense pride in his role as a father to DJ,
who he gave unconditional love and support. For years, they were separated by distance but was
connected by love as he worked tirelessly in order to secure a future where they are finally
together.
Adolfo has always radiated a bright and outgoing personality, never failing to bring joy and a
sense of belonging to those who surround him. He was a loving brother to his siblings whom he
has shared a lifetime of adventures, and cherished moments. He was also a caring uncle and
grand uncle whose affection and playful personality left a mark on the hearts of the younger
members of the family.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Those whose hearts he has touched are welcomed on January 26, 2024 where the viewing will happen from 10 am - 11
am, and service from 11 am - 2 pm. Everything will take place at Mountain View Mortuary, 425
Stoker Ave, Reno, Nevada 89503.
