Terry Alan Hazlewood, a cherished family man and esteemed member of the Claremore community, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on September 15, 1945, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Terry was the son of the late Edgar Alan Hazlewood and Edith Massie. His journey through life took him from his southern roots to the heart of Oklahoma, where he established a legacy of kindness and generosity that touched the lives of many.

Terry's formative years in Tupelo laid a strong foundation for the man he would become—a person of unwavering integrity and warmth. He met and married the love of his life, Florence Katherine Hazlewood. Terry had two wonderful children, Monte and Lottie Hazlewood, who in turn, filled Terry's life with the joy of five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Professionally, Terry was a skilled brick mason, known for his meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to excellence. His hands shaped not only the bricks and mortar of the structures he worked on but also the lives of those who had the privilege to work alongside him. Terry took great pride in his remodel work, transforming spaces with his keen eye for detail and his commitment to creating beauty in the world.

Beyond his work, Terry's true passion lay in the time he spent with his family and the meaningful contributions he made to the AA Fellowship. For 39 years, he was a steadfast presence in the Fellowship, sharing his journey with others and offering a helping hand to those in need. His unwavering support and wise counsel were sources of comfort and inspiration to countless individuals seeking guidance on their path to recovery.

Those who knew Terry would describe him as the epitome of friendliness. His kind demeanor and generous spirit were evident in every interaction. He approached life with a gentle smile and an open heart, always ready to extend a helping hand or a word of encouragement. His presence was a beacon of light, and his absence will leave a profound void in the hearts of all who loved him.

As we bid farewell to Terry Alan Hazlewood, we are reminded of the indelible mark he has left on this world. His legacy will live on through the cherished memories shared by his family, the structures he built with his hands, and the lives he touched with his compassionate soul.
