William Lutz Obituary

In Loving Memory of William “Billy” John Lutz

December 2nd, 1962 – January 20th, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Billy” John Lutz, a devoted husband and loving father, who was passionate about his family and friends. He departed this world on January 20th, 2024 leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.

Born on December 2nd, 1962, in Milwaukee, WI, William “Billy” John Lutz brought joy and warmth to the lives of those around him. His infectious greetings and true genuine personality created a warm environment for anyone he met.  Billy grew up in a family who embraced the Catholic faith and were long term members of Blessed Sacrament where he also attended elementary school.  Billy, his siblings  and his friends could often times be found on the grounds playing their favorite game, “Strike Out.”  He went on to attend Thomas More High School where he was able to show off his true Lutz athleticism on the court and on the field.  However, it was in the game of baseball where he was able to display his natural talent for the game, which led him to play baseball in college at St Mary’s University, San Antonio, TX. After college, Billy continued his love for the game playing in city, county and recreational leagues and finding joy in the simple pleasure of the sport and the people around him.

Billy's greatest joy in life and best accomplishment was his son, William “Little B” (Michelle Abel) Lutz.  His love for his son was so evident in every conversation and Billy was so proud of the man, person and father “Little B” has become.  Billy was also so proud to be a grandfather to Paisley and William “Baby B,” and loved to spend time with Billy, Michelle and his grandchildren.  Over the last 14 years, Billy has also treasured every moment spent with his wife, Jamie Lutz. His love and commitment were evident in the everyday moments with his family.  Billy created a legacy of love, kindness, and a deep sense of familial bonds that will endure for generations.  He is also survived by his devoted brothers and sisters:  Robert (Cara) Lutz, Annie (Ron) Bullock, John (Nicole) Lutz, Jacqueline Lutz, and Mary (Todd) Smolen and many nieces and nephews.  Billy is preceded in death by his parents, William “Senior” & Patricia Lutz and brother, Michael Lutz.

As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Billy for the joy he brought into our lives, the love he shared, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who knew him. May his spirit live on in the cherished memories we hold dear.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 10AM-1PM at Schramka Funeral Homes, 11030 W Forest Home Ave, Hales Corners, WI 53130. Service to follow at 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Lutz Foundation.
