Barbara Sue Spangler
<p><p>Barbara Sue McEndree Spangler, age 84, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2024.</p><p>A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Freeman and Rev. Pat VanDyke officiating. Barbara's family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church on Saturday. Members of the Ron Samuels Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Barbara will be laid to rest at a later time at Shiloh Cemetery in Whittington, Illinois.</p><p>Barbara entered this life in Benton, Illinois to the late Raymond and Edith Bays McEndree. As a young lady, Barbara attended Southern Illinois University and and furthered her education at BMU, receiving her Masters degree. She was a member of the Phi Mu Epsilon sorority and held status in several academic honor societies. She went on to marry James Richard Spangler in the Summer of 1962 and retired from a career at Vernon Hills Elementary School in Illinois where she was a beloved member of the teaching staff. Barbara loved music, reading, exercise, and travel. Above all these things, Barbara put God and family first. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus, and enjoyed worship at First Baptist Church, Clarksville.</p><p>In addition to her husband, James Richard Spangler, survivors include her children and their spouses, Todd (late wife, Cheryl) Spangler, Scott and Kelly Spangler, and Jennifer and Jesse Morris; sister, Marsha Saylor; and close friends, Rev. Burton Wills, Martha Davenport, Clark Chapman, Harriet Short, and Marcia Wolf. She was also the loving grandmother to Kimberly, Michael, Anna Katherine, Alieen, Carlene, and Aleksandra and great-grandmother to Bethany.</p><p>Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Medical Ministry, c/o First Baptist Church, 499 Commerce St., Clarksville, TN 37040.
