Peter John Barbieri, age 25, of Harrison, NY passed away on January 20, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Peter was an inspiration to us all having survived pediatric brain cancer and worked tirelessly to overcome any obstacle in his way. Sadly, Peter succumbed to a different type of cancer after 17 years of survivorship. He was the brightest light in all of our lives.

Peter was born on April 4,1998 to Maria Esposito (Anthony Scatenato) and Peter Barbieri (Stefanie). Peter graduated from Harrison High School in 2016 and received his bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales University (JWU) in Sports, Entertainment, and Event Management. While at JWU, Peter met his second family with Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

Peter was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Maria Elena Esposito and his paternal grandfather John J. Barbieri. He is survived by his beautiful sister Sara Barbieri, grandmother Marie Barbieri, grandfather Fredric Esposito and step siblings Joseph Liucci, Sofia Liucci, Luke Scatenato, and Molly Scatenato. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts: Rocco Esposito (Jacqueline Simmonds), John Barbieri, Kathy DeCarlo (William), Frances Ratsimor (Michael) and Valerie Brock. Peter was adored by his many cousins as well: Rocco Esposito Jr., Hunter Esposito, Eli Ratsimor, Caroline DeCarlo, and Maria Ratsimor.

Peter had the greatest sense of humor and kept us all on our toes playing jokes. He loved all sports and was a devoted fan of the New York Rangers and Mets. Peter loved his annual summer vacations at the Jersey shore and spending time with his friends and family.
