Rosemarie Paladino Obituary

Mrs. Rosemarie Paladino, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital, in Syracuse.

Born in Utica, February 18, 1947, Rosemarie was the daughter of the late Ralph & Lena (D’Argenio) DePetrocellis. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from T.R. Proctor High School in 1965. Upon graduation, Rosemarie began her work career with Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) in their admissions office. She later acquired a position with Catholic Charities in the Social Services Department. It was on August 21, 1971, that she married Ralph S. Paladino. Their marriage was blessed with over forty-eight years of mutual love prior to Mr. Paladino’s passing on December 3, 2019. A devout catholic, Rosemarie had a great love of God and the Blessed Mother. She was a communicant of St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church and a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Rosemarie willingly dedicated herself to her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother. Her own needs were secondary to the needs of others and she tended her family with devotion and unselfishness. She will always be remembered and admired for her commitment and attention to her loved ones.

Rosemarie is survived by her beloved children, Sabrina Paladino, and Joseph Paladino, both of Utica; grandchildren, Marleigh Scialdone of Utica and Nicholas Joseph Lee Paladino of Brookfield; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Darrel Raville of Malone, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Sue DePetrocellis of Kenmore, NY; a niece, several nephews, and cousins including, Patrick and Marie Taylor, Robert and Michelle Taylor, all of Schuyler, Michael Taylor of Ohio, NY, and Ann Marie Taylor of Utica; her in-laws, Salvatore, Jr. and Theresa Paladino of Clinton and many very special friends, who were like family to Rosemarie including, Ben and Mary Farda of Utica. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deanna Scialdone.

In keeping with Rosemarie’s wishes there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning, January 26, 2024, at 10:00, at St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave., Utica, NY. The family will receive visitors in church at the conclusion of services. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
