Edward Anthony VALENTICH Obituary

Edward Anthony Valentich, 67 of Grand Junction, CO passed away on January 14th, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

Ed was born on March 1st, 1956, in Pueblo Co to Frank George Valentich and Glee Delene O’Donnell. After Ed graduated from South HS in 1974, he went on to study at Western State College in Gunnison CO. After graduating, he made a career of Solar Research with jobs at Storage Tech, Colorado School of Mines, and travelled the world with MV Systems. He capped off his career as founding CEO of FE Thinfilms, taking him frequently to China, until 2018, at which time he moved to California wine country to be with his fiancée, Sally. In Spring of 2022, Ed and Sally moved back to the beautiful Western slope to enjoy the life Colorado had to offer.

Ed had a love for the mountains and enjoyed skiing, fly fishing, kayaking, hiking, travelling and spending time in the mountains with a dirty martini in hand.

Everyone Ed met loved him for his immense kindness, and his unselfish and giving heart; therefore he made friends with everyone he met.

Ed is survived by his loving fiancée, Sally Staples, their faithful fur-babies, Ziggy and Ennis, his sister Sheila Grutt, and her husband John, his two nieces and one nephew, his three adult children Shela, Anton and Jessica, and two granddaughters.

Ed was predeceased by his father, Frank, mother, Glee and his wife Glenda.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ocotillo Restaurant at Redlands Mesa Golf Course on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
