<p>It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eva Viola (Saunders) Maidment announce her passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on January 15, 2024 at the age of 92. Eva was an active participant of the Salvation Army Citadel, Circular Road. She was involved in the Home League, League of Mercy, Gideons, Bible Society, Songsters, and was a Sunday School Teacher. Eva was also a member of the CNRHC Ladies’ Auxiliary and retired from F.G. Bursey Collegiate. Predeceased by her husband Gordon; daughter-in-law Sharon; parents Minnie and Eleazor Saunders; brothers Nathan and Thomas, sisters Winnie, Minnie, Margaret , and Alice (Toots); and brothers-in-law Calvin Piercey, Ben Newman, and Bill Roach. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Ernie (Diane) of Summerside, PEI and Jim of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; and daughter Judy (Clyde Marshall) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Also leaving to mourn are her grandchildren Kelly, Khrista (Josh), Michael (Leanne), Mark (Yani), Jamie (Josephine), and Jeffrey (Christa); great-grandchildren Noah, Max, Oliver, Emma, Gabriel, Ernesto, Eduardo, Zachery, Deven, Caitlyn, John, and Evan; sisters Idella (Doll) (Bud Hart), Nancy, and Geraldine; brothers Cedric (Louise) and Bill (Louise); sister-in-law Florence Baker; brother-in-law Edgar Cramm, Watson Noseworthy and James Lorenzen; along with a large circle of relatives and friends. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in her memory to The Salvation Army Band Fund, 33 Circular Road. </p><p><br></p><p>Funeral Service will be conducted by Majors Judy and Larry Goudie; assisted by Major Fred Pond on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at 11:00am.</p>
