Mr. Marvin Benjamin "Butch-Uncle Butchie" Weems Obituary

MR. MARVIN BENJAMIN WEEMS was born in Jersey City, NJ on Friday, March 16, 1945 to both Mr. & Mrs. Sears (Sally) Weems. Our beloved Marvin passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in Monroe, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. David Weems.

Marvin was reared in a home of love shared with his parents and his siblings. He attended Jersey City Elementary and High Schools. During his employment years, he worked various jobs until he landed his ‘dream job’ which was working for Conrail, formally the Consolidated Rail Corporation, and the New Jersey Transit Rail System. He retired in 2007 after 40 years of dedicated service. Marvin loved his job immensely.

On Saturday, September 29, 1973, Marvin married the love of his life, Susie F. Brown. They were happily married for 50 plus years. Marvin was blessed with many talents before he became disabled. He enjoyed working in the yard and barbecuing, not to mention listening to all kinds of music and trying his best to out-dance everyone else. Our dearest Marvin will be missed much and remembered with love.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife, Susie F. Weems; one daughter, Jeanine Weems; one son, Keith Weems; one stepdaughter, Patricia Brown; one stepson, Edward Brown; four grandsons, Keith Jr., Keshon, Nath and Larry; a sister, Marcel Moore; a brother, Michael Weems; one niece, Rhonda Moore; in-laws, Dessie Brown and Willis Brown, Jr., other loved ones and many friends.
