Otis F. Rosema

(Age 81) Otis passed away into the arms of the Lord on December 11, 2016. He was born in Rosalia, WA on April 22, 1935 to Elda and Robert Rosema. The eldest son of five children, he spent most of his childhood on a farm in Camden, WA. He graduated from Newport High School in 1954 and joined the Air Force through the reserves program prior to graduation. Otis and Lillian were married, Nov. 30, 1956 and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage! Otis served 22 years in the military and was known as Rosie to his Air Force buddies. He retired at age 38 as Master Sergeant at Fairchild AFB. Otis' career started as an aircraft electrician and he soon found his niche in Safety where he completed many years in the Ground & Missile safety programs. He also served a tour of duty in Vietnam and will receive Military Honors at his funeral. After he retired from the Air Force, he attended Spokane Community College for 2 years. He then found a second career with Kiemle and Hagood Company (retired at age 62). During these years Otis discovered many special friends and shared stories and jokes with the staff at Holy Family Medical Bldg. and US Bank properties managed by Kiemle and Hagood. Otis enjoyed gardening and his tractors in his retirement years. He loved watching things grow, his Christmas trees, flowers and veggie garden that everyone would comment on when passing or visiting their home of 42 years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta; brother Joe, and his parents. He is survived by his wife Lillian; three daughters, Rose (Randy) Olm, Sharon Rosema and Wendy Ramsey; sister Shirley (Bud) Davis; brother Robert Jr.; grandchildren Leanne, Thomas, Holly, Grayson and Aidan; great-grandson Oliver and various other extended family and friends also held a special place in his heart and made him laughyou know who you are! Viewing will be on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 10am-5pm and Friday, December 16, 2016 from 8am-5pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 1pm at Heritage Funeral Home.
