Carol Ann Rouse Obituary

Argyle

Carol Ann Rouse, 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at her home.

Born on December 4, 1946 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Leona (Dumas) LaCross.

After graduating from Argyle Central School in 1966, she settled in her beloved village of Argyle.

Where she worked as a teachers aide, custodian, cashier, and caretaker before retiring to spend time with her grandchildren. She volunteered her time to various organizations benefiting her church and community. She supported several charities and was known for helping those less fortunate. The phrase “gave the shirt off your back” was a sentence people used often to describe Carol. A familiar face around town she loved chatting with neighbors, Stewarts coffee and cheering on the “Scots”.

She enjoyed looking for “treasures” at garage sales, gardening, stopping by vegetable and fruit stands, watching birds, going for car rides, playing cards (a nice friendly game of Pitch) and puzzles. She especially loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Carol is predeceased by her infant daughter, Cheryl Rouse; her grandchild, Dante Rouse; her siblings, Andre, Theresa, and Eugene LaCross Jr ; her aunts, Katherine “Cateen” Rustin and Eugenia “Jeannie” Tromblee; and her former husband Robert Rouse.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Ronda Cunningham, Laurence (Yolunda) Rouse Sr, Laura (Tim) Blow; her grandchildren, Megan (Nick) Runkel, James Cunningham, Laurence (Jasmine) Rouse Jr., R’Maani (Josh) Idleman, Jaeden Rouse, Nick Blow, Emily Blow, Rachel (Kieran) Thapalia; her great grandchildren, Myah, Kasia and Nia Rouse, Ariyah Idleman and Kyson Rouse; her siblings, David (Brenda) LaCross, Daniel LaCross, Ronald (Penny) LaCross; Richard LaCross; her sister in law, Beverly LaCross; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
