Eric C. Wood age 82, of Bridgeport, CT, passed away peacefully at home, on Dec. 8, 2023, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Known by family and friends as "Woody", was born on Sept. 2, 1941, in Plattsburg, NY, to Howard and Doris (Roberts) Wood and lived in Bridgeport since 1994. He was a former Marine, serving from 1960-1964, and worked as a butcher/meatcutter in wholesale and retail markets, retiring in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Colleen Wood, and brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Shari Chmielewski, niece, Amanda Chmielewski and fiancé Zachary Taylor, great-niece, Ellie Lynn Taylor, nephew, Dustin Chmielewski and partner Mikaela O'Brien. At his request, no service will be held and burial is private.
