Cherie Sue Gray, 56, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 5, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born in Clarksburg on March 13, 1967, a daughter of the late Gary R. Gray and Esta M. “Penny” Gray Williams.

In addition to her parents Cherie was preceded in death by two nephews: David Trey Wygal and Jacob Gray Johnson; uncle and aunt Harold and Adra Anna Gray; and a cousin Jeffrey Gray.

Cherie is survived by three siblings: Mark Gray of Rosemont, Cindy Snider (John) of Bridgeport, and Christina Gray Wygal of Stonewood; niece Kaitlin Kidd (fiancé Anthoni Zimmerman) of Clarksburg; nephew Jeremiah Johnson of Stonewood; aunts and uncles: Cheryl McCray (Tom), Randy Gray (Rita) all of Rosemont; and four cousins: Kathy Cooper of Harmony Grove, Tommy McCray of Rosemont, Tina McCartney of Grafton, and Chad Gray of Grafton.

Cherie was a graduate of Flemington High School Class of 1985 and attended the Bailey Memorial United Methodist Church. She formerly worked at Hill’s Department Store and then at Kroger. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, coloring, and going shopping. Her favorite thing to do though was gathering recipes and putting books together, so she could share with others to try. She enjoyed traveling different places, and especially enjoyed trips to the beach with her family. Cherie was always beating the odds and was a hard fighter until the end. She thought the world of her nieces and nephews and loved them greatly.

Family and friends will be received at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home 950 George Washington Hwy Grafton, WV, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11am. Interment will follow at the Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
