Services for Marquieta Louise (Blankenship) Evans, 84, of Ringling, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 8, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Ringling, with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Bellview Bourland Cemetery in Love County. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.


Marquieta was born January 6, 1939, at Pike to the late Mr. Arthur Blankenship and Mrs. Ramona (Hogue) Blankenship. She departed this life January 2, 2024, at Ardmore, OK.


Marquieta grew up in Courtney attending school and graduating from there. She married Leonard Evans august 2, 1957. To this union they were blessed with 5 children, Tanya, Pam, Len, Angie, and Lisa. Leonard worked in the oilfield which led the couple to many areas of the United States. In 1972 they made their home in Ringling where Marquieta spent most of her years being a homemaker, raising the children. She loved Elvis and was an avid fan of Thunder basketball and Dallas Cowboys football. Marquieta enjoyed playing Bingo and being the best Mema to her grandkids.


Preceding her in death are her parents, daughter, Pam Gandy, brother, Haskell Blankenship, and sister-in-law, Brenda Blankenship.


Survivors include her children, Tanya Zebroski of Gillette, WY, Len Evans of Ringling, Angie Roberts and husband Joe Mac of Healdton, Lisa Spagnolia and husband Robert of New Braunfels, TX; son-in-law, Mike Gandy of Ringling ; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nephew, Brendan Blankenship and niece, Celie Pyle; many cousins, other family, and a host of friends.


Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ethan Adams, Jeremy Weaver, Joshua Weaver, Duane Stevens, Braxton Evans, and Thurston Spagnolia.


Honorary bearers are Sons-in-law, Mike Gandy, Joe Mac Roberts, and Robert Spagnolia; son, Len Evans; cousin, Wayne Light.


Family visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-7 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling.
