Mary Elizabeth Mitchell

Mary Elizabeth Davis Mitchell “Mamoo” (83), of Mt. Olivet, KY passed away on December 31, 2023, at the Kenton Pointe Hospice of Hope Center in Maysville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Mitchell, Jr.; her parents, Edna and Paris Davis; an infant sister, Margaret Davis; a sister and brother-in-law, Carline and Al Burken; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Diana Davis; two nephews, Ben and PD Leyes, sister and brother-in-laws; Martha and Frank Wheeler, Anna Mary and Ed McDowell.

Mary is survived by a sister, Susie Leyes of Waynesville, Ohio; a brother Gary (Liz) Davis, of Deland, FL; her children Teresa (Gerry) Becker, Tom (Carol) Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, and the mother of Joe’s daughters, Lisa Miller Mitchell, all of Mt. Olivet; her grandchildren, Katie (Travis) Hill, Thomas Mitchell, David (Kassie) Marsh, Jessica Mitchell, Lacey Mitchell, Ross Becker and Justin Becker. Great-grandchildren, Ian Marsh, Matthew Trimble, Jackson and Savanna Marsh, Kylie Jo and Ada Rose England, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was a member of the Kentontown Christian Church, former choir director at Piqua Christian Church, and attended New Corinth Church of Christ. Mary was a graduate of Waynesville High School. Her career included working in the Waynesville School system and the Deming School system. Mary also helped on the family farm and provided countless delicious meals for her family and farmhands. One of her greatest passions was watching her children and grandchildren play sports and show animals. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, singing and family gatherings.

A service to honor her memory will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Robertson County Funeral Home in Mt. Olivet. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at 7:00 P.M. Services will be officiated by Brother Steve Gifford, burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Hill, Thomas Mitchell, David Marsh, Ross and Justin Becker, Ian Marsh, Matthew Trimble and Jackson Marsh.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bobbi Jo Leyes, Angie Holly, Dawn Renee’ Davis, Robin Curl, Bobby and Jimmy Davis, Ellen Greear, Katie Hill, Jessica, Kylie Jo and Ada Rose England, Lacey Mitchell, Savanna Marsh, Keith Edwards and Kathy Turley,
