<p>MOOT, Ann L. (nee Chalker) Longtime Hamburg resident passed away December 31, 2023 at the age of 87. Ann is survived by her husband Martin Moot, her children Terry (Lionel) Moot, Donna (Philip) Bellow, Christina (Mark) Bellis, Janet (Robert) Cunfer and Allen (Amy) Moot, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her sister Jeanne Meyers and three bothers Gerald (Joan), Thomas (Sis), and Lee (Genieva). She is survived by her sisters Laura (Thomas) Dutton, Doris (Robert) Quinton, and Ila (Mike) Unfus, her brothers David and Bernard, and countless nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive friends Friday from 3-7 pm at the (Hamburg Chapel) JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC. 5453 Southwestern Blvd. (corner of Rogers Rd. 716-646-5555). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12:00 pm at SS Peter and Paul Church 66 E. Main St. Hamburg, NY (Please assemble at Church). Ann led a lifetime of service with a smile to her community. She epitomized the phrase, “Git ‘er done” with her willingness to lend a hand. She taught sewing to many girls for the Village of Hamburg Youth Centre, volunteered with Girl Scouts, was an active member of both the Quota Club and the Women’s Auxiliary of American Legion Post 527, but she might best be remembered by many as a crossing guard for over 45 years at various locations in the Village. She started a successful alteration business called Sew So. Her grandkids enjoyed sewing with gramma and the impromptu trips she would orchestrate.
