Of Lackawanna, December 29, 2023. Beloved son of the late Robert and Janet (nee Brown) Gawel; loving brother of Pamela Pizzacalla, Kenneth (Joann) Gawel, Robert Gawel Jr., Jeffrey Gawel, and the late Cheryl Anne Schwab; also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. The family will be present on Thursday, January 4th from 3-7PM at the (Blasdell/Lackawanna Chapel) JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC., where closing prayers will begin at 6:30PM. Tom loved sports, he was a diehard LA Dodgers and Buffalo Bills fan. He also liked to play golf and even hit a hole-in-one at Terry Hills. Tom was a member of the DDOA in Niagara Falls, NY and previously the Warthogs in Lackawanna. Lastly Tom was a District Manager for Schwebel's Bakery for many years. Flowers are gratefully declined.
