Daniel J. Patrick (Jr. Patrick) Obituary

Ringling – Going Home services for Mr. Daniel James “Jr” Patrick, Jr. are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, Dec. 29, 2023 at the Gospel Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ with Lafon Glenn officiating and Mike Faulkner providing the Eulogy. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Services are under the care and the direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.

Jr. was born on Nov. 7, 1926, at Robeline, LA to the late Mr. Daniel James Patrick, Sr., and Mrs. Novella (Thomas) Patrick. He departed from this life on Sunday, Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2023, at the Veterans Center of Ardmore.

Jr. was initially raised at Ft. Towson, Ok, not moving to Ringling until 1944. He voluntarily joined the efforts in WWII, joining the US Army on Oct. 2, 1946, at Oklahoma City. Jr. served in Japan as a military policeman and received an honorable discharge on Jan. 15, 1948. Returning to Oklahoma, Jr. soon married the best gate opener he knew of, Ms. Ollie Joyce Wade on Dec. 27, 1948 at Valley View, TX.

Jr. was initially employed for Mark Woods Dairy, then for Lonnie Rooney before going into business with his brother, Don Patrick, and brother-in-law Jake Wade, operating “Deep Rock Station” of Ringling for many years. Jr. always farmed and ranched most of his life as well.

Jr. forever had a towering garden and loved to coon hunt with his nephew Calvin Wade. He also loved to coyote hunt with Mike Skinner and would always enjoy a good fishing trip catching sand bass at Lake Texoma. Ollie preceded him in death on April 12, 2020, and since he has longed for the day to see her once again.

Jr. continuously had a very clever sense of humor, uttering to one of the grandkids about driving in the pasture, “if you don’t stop, you won’t get stuck”. He will be remembered for many things, but most of all for being easy going, quite spoken, willing to help others before himself and constantly enjoying time with family and relishing the country life.

Also preceding him death are his parents; son Dan J. Patrick, daughter, Joyce “Danell” Patrick; sisters, Doris Stanton and Toppy Wade; brother, Don Patrick; son in law, Clyde McCoy and grandson in law, Derrek Snodgrass.
