Nelson J Edwards passed away suddenly on December 21, 2023 at the age of 69.

Affectionately know as "Duke,” he was born on December 6, 1954 in Mahopac, NY to Nelson M. Edwards and Marbeth Edwards, nee Fennelly.

Duke was a lifelong Harrison resident and a fixture of the community for many years.

Everyone he met loved his sense of humor and his stories. He went on to a 35 year career with the Harrison DPW Highway Dept. and Parks Dept.

After full time retirement, he served 2 more years with the Harrison Recreation Dept. at the Solazzo Center. Duke leaves behind a big void with his church family at Life Point Church in Harrison.

Duke also leaves behind his best friend, Salvatore Lagani Jr. and a big void in the entire extended Lagani family, whom he called Mom and Dad, brother, sisters, niece and nephew, aunts and uncles and many cousins. He was loved and will be sorely missed by every single one of them.

Duke was also loved by each and every co-worker within the Town of Harrison with whom he served. Duke was predeceased by his father Nelson M. Edwards, his mother Marbeth Edwards, his brother Bryan Edwards and his sister Barbara Edwards. Duke is now spending eternity in heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Harrison Funeral Home.

Visitation: Tuesday, December 26, 2023, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral: Wednesday

Chapel Service: 10:30 a.m.

Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Rye, N.Y.
