Alex Stutes

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church in Duson for Alex Stutes, 82, who passed away at his home in Ridge on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 5:15 A.M.

Fr. Donavan Labbie, Pastor of St. Basil Catholic Church in Duson will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. Basil Catholic Church Cemetery in Duson.

The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 6 o’clock in the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.

Survivors include one daughter Linda and husband, Dale Robin of Ridge; two sons, Robert Dale Stutes and companion, Monica Young of Judice, John and wife, Donna Stutes of Ridge;  his companion, Eva Guidry of Carencro; four grandchildren, Jennifer Robin, Danielle Stutes, Darren Stutes, and Alexa Robin; two great-grandchildren, Owen Bertsch, and Avery Landry.

Mr. Stutes was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Richard Stutes; his parents, Dallas and Azemie R. Stutes; one brother, Harry Stutes.

The family would like to send a heartfelt Thank You to Mr. Stutes’ sitters, Rhonda Hebert, and Kathleen Guidry. Also they would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana.

Pallbearers for the service will be Darren Stutes, Owen Bertsch, Trey Schmaltz, Ricky LeBlanc, Rickey Guidry, and Shannon Reppond.

Mr. Alex worked twenty plus years for Doug Ashy Building of Lafayette. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino, dancing and listening to French Music. He loved his family, but really his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
