John F. Nun of Omaha, NE formerly of Hebron, NE, son of Louise Nun, was born November 24, l936.  He departed this life Wednesday, December 13th at Edgewood Memory Care Center in Omaha at the age of 87 years.  

John grew up and graduated high school in Ohiowa, NE in l954.  He married Doris E. Dominy on April 4, l956 at Sacred Heart Church in Hebron.  They were married 66 years.  John was a member of Local #21 Ironworkers for more than thirty years.  He enjoyed his family, boating, RVing and visiting all 50 capitals.  He also loved communicating with friends via Ham radio and was an avid boater/water skier.  John even flew on his Delta Kite behind the boat!  John also loved the Cornhuskers and NASCAR.  

He is preceded in death by Doris and his mother, Louise.

John is survived by his children, David Nun and wife, Lisa of Lincoln, NE, Cathryn Poulsen and husband, Jack of Roxboro, NC, Carolyn Poppe and husband, Scott of Omaha, NE and Thomas Nun and wife, Melissa of Charlotte, NC.  Grandchildren:  Jennifer Blair, Jerad Nun, John Berry, Christopher Berry, Ryan Berry, Stacey Poppe, Emily Poppe, Nathan Poppe, Jacob Nun, Seth Nun and Andrea Nun along with 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mass of the Christian burial will be on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, NE.  Officiant is Fr. Steve Major.

Visitation will be Friday, December 22, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. until service time.  Rosary services will be at 9:30.  Burial will be at the Catholic cemetery, with a luncheon afterwards back at the church.  Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com.    Memorials in care of the family at Carol Poppe, 20011 Maple St., Gretna, NE  68028.
