Robert Joseph Yetka Obituary

Robert “Bob” Joseph Yetka, of Stevens Point, WI, passed away on December 10, 2023, at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital surrounded by his beloved family, at the age of 88.

A funeral service to honor Bob’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Shuda Plover Funeral Chapel - 2400 Plover Road, Plover. Deacon Vern Linzmeier will officiate. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Bob was born March 25, 1935 in Knowlton, WI; son of the late Joseph Leo and Mayme Sophie (Rozak) Yetka. He learned the value of hard work at a young age, working on the family farm while also attending school. In 1953, Bob graduated from Amundsen High School in Chicago, IL.

After high school, Bob proudly joined the workforce as a mechanic in the manufacturing industry. On December 5, 1970, he married the love of his life, Brenda Kay Cox, at Northwestern University Chapel in Skokie, IL. The two of them lovingly welcomed a daughter, Robin Kay, to their family. Bob loved sharing his knowledge and expertise with her as she grew; and yet again when he became a grandfather. He absolutely adored any and all time spent with his family and made sure they knew they could always count on him, even in his stubborn moments.

In addition to being a loving and caring family man, Bob also had an adventurous side. He enjoyed water activities such as boating, swimming, and waterskiing as well as winter activities like snowmobiling. When he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, he found entertainment in watching Nascar races, bowling, or using his hands through wood working and fixing cars. No matter what he did, Bob was happy; his love of life and humorous demeanor were contagious.

Bob is lovingly survived by his wife, Brenda; his daughter, Robin (TJ) Visger; his grandchildren, Caden, Haley, Addison, and Joey; and brothers, Ken (Kathleen) Yetka and Geroge Yetka. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, Brian Yetka, Carrie Yetka, Georgie Yetka, Debbie Schreppel, Wayne (Lisa) Johnson, Tammy (Frank) Evans, Wesley (Jessica) Johnson, and Charlene (John) Adamski.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Papa Joe and Mayme; sisters, Veronica Schreppel and Doris (Ed) Smith; sister-in-law, Kathy Yetka; and nephew, John Yetka.

Shuda Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
