<p>James (Jim) Petrie passed away on November 29th at the age of 85 at Thompson General Hospital.</p><p><br></p><p>Jim was born in Glassville, New Brunswick but has lived in Thompson, Manitoba for 40+ years.</p><p><br></p><p>Jim was the youngest of 5 children born to Jim and Edna Petrie, and is survived by his brother Ralph Petrie who resides in Idaho. Jim is also survived by his step-son Gary MacInnis who resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and many family members scattered across Canada and around the world.</p><p><br></p><p>Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and pretty much any activity that allowed him to be outside. He was also a member of the Legion, and over the years he participated in many events hosted by the Legion including cribbage tournaments, darts, curling, Bingo, and meat draws. </p><p><br></p><p>Jim will be missed by many.</p><p><br></p><p>Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life, as well as a private family interment to be held at a later date</p><p><br></p><p>Jim’s family would like to thank the staff at Thompson General Hospital for the care and compassion they provided in his final days, as well as his many friends and invaluable neighbours who have been such a great support system.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

Obituary
