Charlotte Carole Barnett, 81 of Martinsville, gained eternal rest at 3:20 AM on Monday, December 4th, 2023, after a short stay at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana. She was one of eleven children born to the late William Estes and Ruby Pearl *Muse) Britt. Charlotte was born on Tuesday, November 3rd, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She had lived most of her life in Martinsville where she worked at Harman Becker for twelve years, retiring in 2005 and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After graduating high school, Charlotte earned a degree in business administration from the Indiana Institute of Technology.

She treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, and having ‘discussions’ and playing Scrabble with her sisters. She was also an avid reader and what many may call a ‘chocoholic’… she loved anything chocolate.

Charlotte has left a legacy of love and cherished memories with her family including her two daughters, Jennifer Hamblen of Martinsville; Rachel (husband, Kevin) Hunt of Martinsville; son, Willard Barnett of Martinsville; stepson, Tim (Wife, Susan) Barnett; stepdaughters, Sharon (husband, Randy) Mitchell of Paragon and Karen Vice of Kentucky; brother, Robert (wife, Rebecca) Britt of Martinsville; and fifteen grandchildren, Sage, Orry, and Heather Hamblen, Kevin “Levi”, Kaleb, Kloe, Kort, Kyle and Kruz Hunt, Jeremy and Randy Mitchell, Bruce (wife, Chrissy) Barnett, Sam (wife, Olivia) Barnett, and Shane and Christie Vice.

Along with her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by five brothers, Alton, Randall, Tim, Kenneth and Gene Britt; and four sisters, Connie Babb, Ressie Beatrice Lester, Hazel Osborne and Rosemary Britt.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville and one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at the church. A service celebrating her life and legacy will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 8th, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 100 Church Street, Martinsville.

She will be laid to rest in Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville following the funeral service.
