Ray Charles Brooks Obituary

Ray Charles Brooks was born in Queen City, Texas on September 11, 1947 to Rallis and Cinderella Brooks. He was raised in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Grant High School in 1967. He married the love of his life, Jamie, in 1990.

Ray was a dedicated worker and held many occupations in his beautiful lifetime. After 20 years of service he retired from Bushwacker, Inc in 2016.

Ray’s spirit was infectious and his big beautiful smile brightened even the darkest days. He loved to get dressed, smell good and have himself a drink and some smoke. He was an avid sports fan and if you asked him who his favorite teams were you can bet it was whichever team was winning at that time. Ray was always the life of the party even though he was usually the smallest guy in the room with his quick wit and never ending catch phrases. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids and loved to brag about them to anyone that would listen.

Ray Charles is preceded in glory by his parents, wife, brothers and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother and sister, nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of other friends and family.

Enjoy your “rendezvous at the ponderosa”, Ray Charles. You will forever be missed.
