Obituary
Mrs. Virginia “Sue” Pierce, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, December 4, 2023, at her home at the age of 79. Sue was born in Wynne on May 31, 1944, the daughter of James “Fred” and Parry Lee (Hardin) Rock.
Sue married Willie Pierce on August 18, 1961. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Apostolic Church. She enjoyed anything involving her grandchildren and working with her hands, namely piecing puzzles, sewing, and creating floral arrangements.
Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Willie Paul Pierce; and five sisters, Ruby Lee Baker, Jean Carrigan, Dot Rock, Louise Clayton, and Fredia Davis.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Willie Pierce of the home; a son, Gary Pierce and companion, Linda McDaniel, of Wynne; a daughter, Debbie Williams of Fisher; a sister, Mary Francis Ramsey and husband, David, of Wynne; three grandchildren, Jonathan Pierce and wife, Robbi, of Vanndale, Cody Pierce and wife, Whitney, of Vanndale, and Derek Lace of Fisher; six great-grandchildren, Elliot, Whitten, Alannah, Carter, and Mason Pierce, and Ashlin Reese Lace; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Rev. John Ison officiating. Interment will follow in Vanndale Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to service time.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Wesley Crowder, Randy Martinez, Sr., Jimmy Odell, Mark Pierce, Greyson Sanders, and Mark Walls.
