Maureen E. (Lett) Kuhn, age 77, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 3, 2023. 

Maureen was born on October 4, 1946, in Somerville, MA; she was the daughter of the late William J. and Margaret (Ahearn) Lett.  Maureen was raised in Cambridge and attended St. Mary’s School. 

Maureen married her loving husband, Michael E. Kuhn, on January 7, 1967.  They moved to Wilmington, where they raised their two children, Matthew and Melissa.  Maureen was involved in the community; she taught CCD and belonged to the ladies’ sodality group at St. Dorothy Church for many years.  Maureen also was the Chairperson for the Wilmington Republican Party.  

Maureen worked as a human resource specialist for SRC, a company that specialized in Coast Guard Satellites.  Maureen was a diligent worker; she had special security clearance to work with defense and intelligence.  After several years with SRC, Maureen went to work for New England Copy until she retired. 

Maureen spent many summers at Robert’s Knoll Campground in Alton, NH and it was her second home; Mike and Maureen made many friends who became more like their family.  Over the years, Maureen made many wonderful memories with their children, grandchildren, and friends. 

In her spare time, Maureen enjoyed reading and keeping up on current events by following Fox News.  She took a special interest in the weather, the Royal Family, and loved reading murder mysteries. Maureen loved the fall season and her extensive house plant collection. 

Maureen will be remembered as a generous and loving person; she cared deeply for her family and friends.  She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. 

Maureen was the beloved wife of Michael E. Kuhn, devoted mother of Matthew E. Kuhn & his wife Joan of Peabody and Melissa K. Forte & her husband William of Andover, loving “Mimi” of Vincent Forte and Dominic Forte, dear sister of Michael Lett & his wife Kathy, William Lett & his wife Mary Grace, and Patricia Morrissey, loving sister-in-law of the late Larry Kuhn, Sr. & his wife Ann, the late Paul Kuhn & his late wife Margaret, and the late Patricia Bonita.  Maureen is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Saturday, December 9th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. 

Memorial donations in Maureen’s name may be made to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center, 200 Liberty Street, 16th Floor, New York, NY  10281.
