Jessica J. Puleo Obituary

With Great sadness, we announce that our precious sister, aunt, and friend, Jessica Puleo, passed away on Thursday, November 30th, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, following a fierce year long battle with cancer.

Born in Bronx, NY, on September 17, 1964, Jessica was the loving daughter of the late Domenick and Agatha Puleo.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories and attempt to solve the “mysteries of Jessica”, her brother Domenic and wife Jackie, and sister, Aggie. Her nephews whom she adored immensely, Tony and wife Shelby and Michael and wife Tessa. As well as her great nephews and nieces, little Dom, Brock, Carina, and Avery, along with many lifelong friends sprinkled nationwide and certainly her Moon Sisters.

Graduating from York Catholic, Jessica went on to pursue a degree in Communications at York College where she tried out her DJ skills on the late-night York College Radio station 88.1 FM. She then earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University and was employed at UPMC working as a psychotherapist.

Jessica’s loving and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Jessica always put others needs before herself and was the most loving, loyal, and kind soul one could know. Filled with grace and beauty, however one should not be fooled by her soft-spoken ways. Deep down, Jessica was a fierce fighter and the best advocate during her final journey. Jessica left this earth leaving her loved ones speechless in awe as she defined the true meaning of a “Bad A$# Goddess Warrior!”

Jessica was truly an amazing woman. She left us all with a better understanding and appreciation for the things in life that are the hardest for most to conceive. She embodied a quiet courage that allowed love and light to dominate her entire being and dominate the dark. Jessica never waivered from her True North…Jessica was confident in her intentions and her constant smile was proof of her commitment to goodness and selflessness. We will all miss her dearly. Fortunately, Jessica was a character that we can never forget and will be with us in spirit, forever inspiring everyone whomever knew her to be better versions of themselves.

In honor of Jessica, please do something kind today, a simple act of kindness as Jessica would do!

Her dreams of travel were put on hold for her strong desire to always put other’s needs before her own. To honor her Legacy, please plan a destination vacation today with family and friends and make it happen! Don’t wait!

A celebration of Jessica’s life will be held at a later date. Jessica preferred bright sunny days, with the birds chirping and flowers blooming, and this will be honored.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jessica’s name can be made to The Animal Rescue, www.animalrescueinc.org; or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.LLS.org
