At the age of 92, Sister Rose Elena went to her eternal reward on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on September 22, 1931, and entered the Sisters of Divine Providence from the parish of San Miguel in 1958. She professed her Final Vows on August 27, 1967. Sr. Rose Elena taught in schools in the Diocese of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. She received her BA in Elementary Education from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Sister was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Reyes and Rosario Colon; siblings, Manuel Faustino, Carmen, Maria Teresa, Antonia, Roberto, and Justino. She is survived by her siblings, Jose, Maria Albertina, Rafael, Manuel A., Rafaela, Petra and Sara; a stepsister, Iris Resto Serrano; many nieces and nephews, and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Viewing will take place on Tuesday, December 5th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., with a Wake Service at 7 p.m.  Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 6th at 11 a.m.  All will take place in Visitation Chapel at The Commons of Kearns Spirituality Center, 9000 Babcock Blvd., Allison Park, PA 15101.
