<p>William J. McGrann, Jr., age 88 of Taunton, passed away on December 3, 2023 at Morton Hospital.<br> He was the beloved husband of Thelma (Perry) McGrann.<br> Born in Boston, MA, William was a son of the late William and Mae (McHugh) McGrann.<br> Before retiring, Mr. McGrann was employed with Catering and Car Sales.<br> William loved Volunteering his time to help others in need. It brought and taught him peace and love by giving of his time. It was a passion and a demonstration and example of his Faith and Good works in the name of the Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit.<br> Bill went to Honduras on a Church Mission 10 years ago in his late seventies. Bill volunteered at the Saint Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in Taunton for years, prepared his own meals on wheels for folks in need, provided Holy Communion for Seniors unable to attend weekly Catholic Mass. Bill quietly volunteered at Hospice for over a decade to sit with Family’s providing support to them.<br> The Good works of volunteering at Hospice came full circle for Bill. He passed after a Decades Battle with Alzheimers Disease; cared for and provided Assisted Living in the Home by his Loving Wife, Thelma. Near his end of life he was gifted with Compassionate Care Hospice services at Morton Hospital and peacefully passed with loved ones .<br> We would like to thank the Nurses, Doctors, Case workers at the VA Hospital for at Home Primary Care Services provided; the Morton Hospital Staff, who showed and provided amazing care and support every day. And the end of life care and support of the Compassionate Care Hospice.<br> Mr. McGrann was a proud Navy Veteran.<br> Besides his beloved wife Thelma of over 64 years, he is survived by his loving children; Lynette McGrann Gaynor of Lakeville, Robert McGrann and his wife Marie of Brockton, Richard McGrann and his wife Kristin of Sandwich, Grandfather of Jack Gaynor, Jessica Gaynor, Jenna Gaynor and husband Zachary Taylor, Jaime Shorten, Danielle and Jose Delgado, and Chloe Weatherbee, Bobby and Michaela McGrann. Great-Grandfather of<br> Jonah and Mia Delgado, Zola and Charlie Shorten, Cameron Lacroix Gaynor, and Lennox Taylor.<br> William leaves his brother John and Gerry McGrann of Canton, brother of the late Paul and Rosalie McGrann, Marilyn and John Carol and the late Dorothy and Adrian Vandorpe.<br> Mr. McGrann’s funeral with visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 8:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church Spring Street, North Dighton.<br> Interment with military honors will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.<br> In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to; Alzheimers Research, in William’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.<br> For expressions of sympathy, to sign an online guestbook or to light a memorial candle, visit www.silvafuneralhome.com </p>

William J. McGrann, Jr., age 88 of Taunton, passed away on December 3, 2023 at Morton Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Thelma (Perry) McGrann.
Born in Boston, MA, William was a son of the late William and Mae (McHugh) McGrann.
Before retiring, Mr. McGrann was employed with Catering and Car Sales.
William loved Volunteering his time to help others in need. It brought and taught him peace and love by giving of his time. It was a passion and a demonstration and example of his Faith and Good works in the name of the Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Bill went to Honduras on a Church Mission 10 years ago in his late seventies.
