THURMAN HAROLD BALDWIN, SR., age 81 of Verbena, passed away on December 3, 2023 at Prattville Health and Rehabilitation in Prattville, AL. He was born in Montgomery, AL on February 8, 1942; the son of the late William Lumus Baldwin and the late Velma Ophelia Strength Baldwin.

He was a former tree expert with Asplundh Tree Service.  Thurman honorably served his country in the United States Army. He also enjoyed woodworking and many members of his family are blessed to have pieces of his work in their homes. Thurman enjoyed going fishing and taking in a good western on TV.

He is survived by: Son, Thurman Baldwin, Jr. of Verbena; Son, Kevin (Jamie) Baldwin of Verbena; Son, Darrell (Donna) Baldwin of Verbena; Daughter, Sandra (Stevie) Rhodes of Verbena; Son, Delvin Baldwin of Verbena; 13 Grandchildren; and 8 Great Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by: Wife, Grace Baldwin; and Son, LaDon Baldwin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Christiansen officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in the Floyd Baptist Cemetery in Verbena, AL.
